FTTH network built in Rural Norfolk and Suffolk<\/h1>\n

We have built multiple networks across rural Norfolk and Suffolk, capable of delivering 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) to the small villages of Pedham and Hemblington.<\/p>\n

We have built multiple networks across rural Norfolk and Suffolk, capable of delivering 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) to the small villages of Pedham and Hemblington. <\/span>This new network sits just outside of our existing wireless coverage area, allowing for residents in rural areas struggling with internet to receive a 21<\/span>st<\/sup><\/span> century modern Wi-Fi solution. <\/span>Work involved around 15km of trenching and homes in Pedham and Hemblington are now connected.<\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Homes can expect to pay around \u00a340 +vat per month (\u00a348 inc. VAT) for a symmetric 200Mbps service and local businesses can potentially access speeds of up to 10Gbps.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cResidents in Pedham and Hemblington, who were suffering with around 1-4 Mbps download speeds over\u00a0Openreach<\/a>\u2019s Copper telephone network, contacted Symmetris in early 2019 about a possible FTTX project for the area as the slow speeds were making working from home and online study almost impossible.<\/p>\n

The Gigabit Village project used adjacent farmland to access the customer properties and were able to plan, negotiate Wayleaves, build and commission a Gigabit capable full fibre project which was started in July 2019.<\/p>\n

The project presented many challenges but has gone live over the Christmas period delivering 200Mbps (up and down) to the residents.<\/p>\n

The whole project installation was covered by the DCMS Rural Gigabit Voucher Scheme with no installation costs to the residents.\u201d\u00a0 – Symmetris statement<\/p>\n
